10:46 am - Mexico City vs. Monterey
You all are so very helpful all of the time.

Here is the big question:

If you had a choice of spending one night in Mexico City or one night in Monterey Mexico which would you choose and why?

Remember, I only have one night (en route)to spend in one of these destinations and I would like to know which one would be more culturally enriching.

Anything at all you can tell me about these two places is fantastic!

Kindest regards,

Lisa

12:12 pm - Mexico - Spring Solstice?
Hi there -

Once again I am reaching out to the Live Journal Community for travel help. Has anyone been to the Mayan ruins in Mexico for the spring solstice? When does this happen?

Other then Cancun what would be a must see and do for the Yucatan peninsula? What time of year is good to go? Where should we stay?

Thanks for your help!

05:22 pm - Mexican Riviera
Hi there ya'll!

My friend has decided to mover her honeymoon away from Sandals and is considering a cruise departing LAX for the Mexican Riviera. Stopping in Catalina Island and San Diego.

Has anyone ever been on one? What was the experience?

The honeymoon is in September. What about hurricanes?

Value for money?

Cost?

Anything at all?

Kindest regards,

Lisa

02:33 pm - Purchasing a bike.
Hi there,

I have just returned from 3 separate bike stores here in Las Vegas. Currently, I am shopping for a mountain bike that I can ride on some dirt trails. The perfect bike for me would be a comfortable bike that I can ride a little more upright (bad lower back). Nothing too technical and around the $500-ish range.

The three places I went had a few different selections. First stop had quite a few Trek products along with Specialized and Cannondale. The second stop had only Jamis Bikes (I had never heard of them). Third store had a lot of Santa Cruz bikes, some Specialized and Gary Fishers.

I have previously owned a Specialized Rock Hopper and a Gary Fisher (Mambo?). The Gary Fisher was my favorite of the two. I understand that Trek now makes Gary Fishers so they are a bit different then before. Any comments?

What are your opinions on these brands of bikes?

What do you think about disc brakes etc.?

Value for money?

From a non-salesperson point of view what would you recommend?

Kind regards,

Lisa

05:14 pm - Advice for a girlfriend's honeymoon - Sandals Jamaica
Hi there ya'll!

I have a girlfriend that is unable to post here herself.

Don't ask why. Trust me, the explanation would take too long.

Anyway, she has asked me if I know anything about Sandals Jamaica. I do not know very much about these reasorts.

Are there two or three in Jamaica?

Has anyone ever been to one? What was the experience?

Can you leave the resort or is safety a concern?

The honeymoon is in September. What about hurricanes?

Value for money?

Cost?

Anything at all?

Kindest regards - peace man,

Lisa

04:24 pm - Oahu in early May
So,after weighing my options I think we may hop over to Oahu in the beginning of May. There are direct flights from Vegas to Oahu. We could rent a car and camp on the windward coast just north of a place called Laie(?). Has anyone been?

I have been to Maui (and camped there too).

Thanks for your help.

09:12 am - Phillipines
Hello again,

For those of you that have been to Manila...

Is late November early December a good time to go?

Is booking domestic flights easy to do once in Manila or should I pre-arrange them?

In a 10 day period with the trip starting and ending in Manila where is it feasible for me to go (Luzon? Boracay?).

I think I would like to swim with the whale sharks. Anything else I should definitely do?

Thank you again!

Lisa

05:15 pm - I've been busy!
What an understatement. So, I flew to Pittsburgh for Grandmother's birthday. Then, I flew to Las Vegas. Boy my arms are tired - I know, not funny.

Anyway, here is the news. I am moving to Las Vegas. My last day of work in Orlando is June 7th and I will fly out again on the 10th.

I have a whole lot to do. So much that I don't really know where to begin. Frustrating!

Either way I will be making my pilgrimage trip to the beach this weekend. Sad, but true.

10:37 am - Busy Week Ahead
Ok, so I will be doing the following:

I work all week this week with the exception of my favorite - the Wednesday afternoon dental appointment. Where is my gas mask?

Saturday morning Jay and I will be flying to Pittsburgh to visit Grandma Marie. The timing was perfect, it is her birthday this weekend that we will be there. Monday morning we both fly back to Orlando so that Jay can go to class that night.

On Tuesday morning I will be flying to Vegas solo. If I can get on a early flight I could be there by mid-day. That would give me some time to explore. Tuesday (and maybe Monday) I will be busy with Nikki and the other reps. I need to remember to write everything down. Journal, journal, journal... Wednesday I need to fly back to Orlando.

Whew!
